Badoo

Is a multi-lingual, London based, social networking website. It offers users the ability to connect with people at a local and global level, allowing them to share photos and videos, create "reportages" of their lives, and promote themselves and their work. The site's "philosophy," which they have trademarked, is "I am here".
Launched in May 2006 (although the URL existed as a web portal since 2003), the site now has over 14 million registered users, and is one of the top 100 visited sites on the net, accordiCafeMom is already the largest social-networking/community site for moms AND the leading women’s/parenting site on the internet – passing mainstream sites like ivillage, babycenterng to Alexa Internet. It is also one of the top ten community websites in Europe. In September 2007, Badoo re-launched the site, promising users "upgraded features and innovative new tools

Reaction:

Unlike other social networking services, Badoo does not incorporate advertising in any part of the site, thus a user's profile contains only user-generated content. It generates income through a "Rise Up" feature which allows users to pay to have their profile given more prominence on the site for a limited time. 20% of Badoo's 14 million users access this function once a month

CafeMom

Is an ad-supported social networking website specifically targeted at mothers, offering member-generated content such as profiles, journals, groups, photos, and polls.
The site launched in December, 2006 and within one year became the most trafficked website for women (by page views) on the Internet, according to comScore. CafeMom gets more than 3.1 million unique visitors a month, accounting for over 140 million page views. Based in New York City, the company has about 65 employees.
Advertisers on the site have included Wal-Mart, Disney, HP, Kraft, Unilever, and Johnson & Johnson. In addition to traditional banners ads, advertising deals have involved sponsored member groups, profile widgets, games, and product giveaways.
CafeMom is owned by privately held CMI Marketing, founded by Andrew Shue and Michael Sanchez.

CafeMom is already the largest social-networking/community site for moms and the leading women’s/parenting site on the internet . CafeMom has also developed a series of cutting edge sponsorship programs that allow leading brands to join the consumer conversation, add value to members' lives, and get members talking about sponsor brands in an authentic and viral way.

Hyves

Is a free Dutch social networking site which has been online since October 2004. The site was launched by Raymond Spanjar, Koen Kam and Floris Rost van Tonningen. The name Hyves comes from the English Beehive - not from Hives, hereby comparing the users to bees in a hyve. Since the domain hives.nl was already registered, they chose to call their website Hyves.
The focus of this website is on keeping in touch with existing friends and making new friends. There is no need to have knowledge of HTML for creating a Hyve.

Reaction:

This network is comparable with other social networking sites. Users can create personalized pages of themselves with rich media content, such as photos, videos, flash content and custom layouts.

Alta Vista is a full text search engine, which uses “spiders” or “robots” to create its own databases from public Internet Web pages. It uses the word, acronym or phrase that is input and creates a database of Web sites containing those terms. The results are listed with the most relevant sites first. Alta Vista is considered a single or individual search engine since it searches individual sites only.
Additional features of Alta Vista include a directory of Web sites reviewed by its editors and organized by category. If you’re not sure what terms to search, you can select a category and follow its path to get where you want to go. A section with Web tools allows you to send and receive email, map out a set of directions, translate foreign language information, catch up on the latest news, etc. A business center and shopping directory are also available from the home page.

Reaction:
Alta Vista for me, is a good example of search engines because it provides web and newsgroup search engines, as well as paid submission service and it is a unique engine because it uses spiders or robots to create its own databases.

Dogpile is a meta-search engine that transmits a search simultaneously to several individual search engines and their databases of Web pages. The default list of search engines queried varies. You can also customize Dogpile to search specific search engines. Results are retrieved in lists of 10 hits from each engine queried. If more than 10 results are found, a link to the next list of hits is given. It is important to remember that meta-search engines only spend a short time in each database and may only retrieve a small percentage of any of the results in

any of the databases queried.

Dogpile also for me is a best example of search engines for the reason that Dogpile fetches and ranks results from multiple search engines, letting you search for key word, pictures, audio, video, news,or phone numbers.

HotBot is one of the early Internet search engine and was launched in May 1996 as a service of Wired magazine. It was one of the first search engines to offer the ability to search within search results. The site still exists, however it is run by Yahoo! mainly.

LasT December 24 2008,my mother,younger brother and i go to malungon,sarangani province for vacation.It is where my mother's sister lived,together wit my family.But we celebrated our christmas at general santos city,where my brother lived together with his wife and his little duaghter.

There we celebrated our christmas together with the whole family of his wife.I was so excited at that time because it was my first time to celebrate christmas in other place and joined with other people.Although I am not with my whole family during christmas,but still my christmas was merry,because I've seen new place,new faces and meet new friends.

And one thing I cAnt forget during our vacation,was when we find the house of our very own world Boxing champion'''MANNY PACQUIAO'''.The house was so elegant,and very large.It consist of four gates and tall wall.And Ofcoures I was so enjoyed during that time because the place was so beautiful and I felt relaxed and refresh my mine with the view of the place.

And THat i consider as one of my memorable experienced during my christmas vacation..Thatzzz all!!!!!!!!!
